Gearbox Rebuild Warranty

We take considerable care in every gearbox we rebuild. Our qualifying gearbox rebuilds are covered by a 24-month, unlimited-mileage warranty, giving you peace of mind long after your gearbox leaves our workshop.

1. Warranty Coverage

Our warranty runs for 24 months from the invoice date and covers faults arising from defective workmanship, incorrect assembly or defective replacement components supplied as part of the rebuild.

If a covered fault develops, we’ll repair or replace the affected components and carry out any necessary rebuilding work at no charge.

The warranty applies to qualifying rebuilds. Any different arrangements for individual repairs or specialist applications will be discussed and agreed before work begins.

2. What isn’t covered

Our voluntary warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by misuse, accidents, overloading, incorrect lubrication, inadequate maintenance or continued use after a fault becomes apparent.

It also excludes failures caused by unrelated vehicle components, subsequent modifications or repairs carried out by others, and normal wear of existing components that were not replaced.

These exclusions apply where the circumstances concerned have caused or contributed to the failure.

3. Modified and performance applications

We’ll always aim to advise customers on the most suitable components for their particular application, taking into account engine power, vehicle weight and intended use.

However, we cannot warranty original VW or Porsche components against failures caused by using them beyond their original design specifications.

Where appropriate, we’ll recommend upgraded components and discuss any limitations before carrying out the rebuild.

Our warranty on workmanship remains in place, and your statutory rights are unaffected

4. Your responsibilities

To keep your gearbox in good working order, please use the recommended oil, maintain the correct oil level and ensure that the gearbox is installed correctly.

If you suspect a problem, stop using the vehicle where continued driving could cause further damage and contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Please give us the opportunity to investigate the problem before arranging repairs elsewhere.

5. Making a warranty claim

If you experience a problem, contact us with your invoice details and a description of the fault.

We may need the gearbox returned to our workshop for inspection. Please contact us before arranging its removal or return so that we can discuss the next steps.

If the fault is covered, we’ll carry out the necessary repairs without charging for the relevant parts or labour. We’ll also meet any transport costs we’re legally required to bear.

If the fault isn’t covered, we’ll explain our findings and provide an estimate before carrying out any chargeable work.

6. Additional conditions

This voluntary warranty is provided to the original customer named on the invoice and is not transferable unless agreed in writing.

Any special warranty conditions for a particular gearbox or application will be recorded and agreed before work begins.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Your statutory rights

This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to have services performed with reasonable care and skill.
